How are scholars selected?

Successful scholarship students are selected based on their academic performance and attitude to schooling; demonstrated community service and youth leadership; personal qualities of maturity, independence and resilience necessary to live away from home for an extended period; and evidence of parental support. A selection committee will be established in each participating country. If you are successful you will receive a provisional offer, following which you will need to enrol in the education system in Australia, which will determine your school and homestay placement. Following your confirmation of enrolment, you will also need to complete mandatory immigration processes to get a student visa.

Provisional scholarships are subject to school enrolment and Australian immigration processes. Applicants will need a passport. The offer of a provisional scholarship does not guarantee school enrolment or a visa.
